The Role:

The Staff Systems Engineer will participate in the entire lifecycle of projects including design, configuration, commissioning, testing, and training. This is a junior-level position and will provide experience in: staging and configuring control systems for SCADA and ATMS applications; creating application and system test procedures; developing GUI (Graphical User Interfaces), process databases and reports; performing application and system testing; and performing operator and system training.

Travel in this role is estimated to be approximately 20%. Periodic travel to jobsite is required.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor of Science degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Electrical Engineering would be preferred.

  • Experience, exposure or knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technology, HMI or SCADA software graphics configuration and database development.

  • Experience deploying virtual servers/hosts and VMware ESXi.

  • Experience with Perl, Bash or similar scripting language.

  • Familiarity with programming in Java or JavaScript.

  • Proficiency working with a Windows PC in a network environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and civil schematic drawings.

  • Experience with networking including TCP/IP, LAN and WAN technologies.

  • Serial communications protocols and networks (Modbus, NTCIP, SNMP, etc.)

  • Experience with computer hardware and operating system platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.).

  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% annually

Our top Candidates will have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechatronics), Computer Science

  • Exposure to Intelligent Traffic/Transportation systems

  • Demonstrate exposure through course work or practical experience (including internships or co-op) to project-oriented control system integration
