We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of two major tunnel ITS projects in Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for systems engineering activities across the project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system integration, testing, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in delivering reliable, high-performance tunnel control and traffic management solutions that support the safe and efficient operation of critical transport infrastructure.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead the technical delivery of two tunnel projects in Australia, acting as the Lead Systems Engineer and ensuring successful end-to-end execution.

  • Provide technical leadership to a geographically dispersed, multicultural team, ensuring project delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Coordinate project execution with internal teams, subcontractors, partners, customers, and other key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the customer, taking ownership of the proposed solution and ensuring it meets contractual and operational requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional stakeholders in planning, risk management, issue resolution, and project governance activities.

  • Lead systems engineering activities, including requirements analysis, solution definition, systems integration, verification, validation, and technical risk management.

  • Support customer engagement activities, including technical workshops, presentations, and discussions related to project delivery and change management.

  • Provide commercial support in the preparation of proposals, estimates, and technical documentation for Change Requests and project enhancements.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in system engineering/project management in a project delivery organization across both systems and software delivery.

  • Experience in the delivery of Intelligent Transportation Systems, or Advanced Traffic Management Systems.

  • Relevant ITS/ATMS experience should include tunnel SCADA, tunnel control systems, traffic detection and monitoring, CCTV, incident detection, incident response, decision support, traffic data processing and reporting.

  • Advanced level of English language.

  • Applicants should be available for travel based on project requirements, including international travel, as such a passport is required.
